Given the unpredictable weather, Year 4 focused on building shelters. Working in teams, they had limited resources: four pegs, a tarpaulin, some rope, and any additional materials they could find in the woods. Fortunately, we didnt need to test the waterproofing of our shelters.

Year 8 pupils have been exploring the fascinating world of ceramics, drawing inspiration from the intricate works of renowned British potter Kate Malone, Natasha Clutterbuck and the whimsical, dot-obsessed creations of Japanese abstract artist Yayoi Kusama. They have crafted unique, three-dimensional clay pots that reflect a vibrant fusion of bold colours and striking patterns, with each piece showcasing their individuality and artistic flair.
In addition to their clay work, the pupils have taken a hands-on approach to working with natural materials, incorporating organic substances like coffee, beetroot juice, and other earthy pigments to add texture, colour, and depth to their creations. The rich tones not only echo the natural beauty of the materials but also tie their work to the environment around them, creating pieces that feel both contemporary and connected to the natural world.
The result is a collection of truly personal and diverse outcomes, where each pot tells a story of artistic exploration, combining the influence of modern art with the timeless beauty of nature.
