ENRICHMENT WEEK - WHAT A WEEK! Over just four days our pupils have taken part in an amazing 24 different activities, each offering something new, exciting and enriching. From unique experience days where students discovered new skills, built friendships, and connected with staff in new ways, to subject immersion days that took learning beyond the boundaries of the national curriculum. It’s been a week to remember. We also dedicated time to giving back through our community days, where pupils contributed meaningfully to local causes. Year 10 had the chance to look ahead with a fantastic visit to Sussex University, exploring life beyond school. Throughout the week, bronze and silver Duke of Edinburgh expeditions added an extra layer of challenge and adventure. A heartfelt thank you to our pupils for their huge smiles, enthusiasm and positivity, and to our dedicated staff who brought the whole week to life. We’re also grateful to our parents for their support in preparing the students for such a dynamic and inspiring week. Here are some of the highlights and here’s to an even bigger and better enrichment week in 2026. We can’t wait!

Year 10 students put something back into the community by helping to tame the Southwick station community garden: we got rid of the bindweed that was covering all of the fences, removed a fair few stinging nettles (mainly without getting stung!), whitewashed some of the walls, and even managed to water the tomato plants! Later, we walked to the RNLI lifeboat station at Shoreham and found out about the brave volunteers and the work that they do, learnt about what the different flags on the beaches tell us, and walked around the lifeboat stationed there. #EnrichmentWeek #southwickcommunitygarden

Chicago! We started the day in the drama room practicing some scenes and playing instruments, this is when we all started to get very excited for the trip as Mr Hogarth put on the opening scene ‘ and all the jazz’. We got the train to Eastbourne and we ate our lunch on the beach, we got brutally battered by seagulls, had a paddle and got an ice cream. Jayden was also on the hunt for the perfect skimming rock and finally found one. We then walked to the theatre and got some snacks ready for the show. Our favourite characters was Roxie, Velma and Jessica. We finshed the trip with a cookie from subway ( in Zachs case, 12!!) and made it back to Shoreham college. What a day! #EnrichmentWeek

What a joyful gathering in the Lewis Hall, where we welcomed our AGE UK guests to an afternoon tea filled with entertainment and companionship. ¸£Àû¼§ led a delightful programme featuring a quiz, a few rounds of bingo, and truly fantastic musical performances from our singers and band. The hall was filled with smiles, laughter, and even a few happy tears, as our guests were made to feel loved and valued. It was a heartwarming occasion, and a true reflection of the compassion, creativity, and maturity of our Year 9 students. You did yourselves proud – well done! #EnrichmentWeek #ageuk
