What a glorious Friday afternoon in the forest. The autumn sunshine provided the perfect backdrop for Y6 to develop their batoning and sawing. Fuelled by 'forest-made' garlic bread, hot chocolate, and smores, what a way to end the week.

Milly finished sewing her personalised napkin in Sewing Club. She learnt how to thread a needle, tie a knot, cast off, running stitch and how to fold and sew a hem. What a great job Milly.

Year 4s were very excited for their first trip of the year to Bignor Roman Villa.
Dressed up as Romans and Celts they were introduced to the different roles everyone would have led, in the villa.
Our guide showed us mosaics and told us the interesting stories behind them.
We learned how Romans heated their homes and took baths, and we tried grinding grain into flour using a quorn stone - it was hard work! We then wrote our names in beeswax, used our learning in Maths to match the Roman numerals with Arabic numerals, and made mosaic patterns.
Y4 had a blast and can’t wait for the next trip!
