Before half-term our Little Lions, Reception and Year 2 children enjoyed a wonderful Chinese New Year celebration together.
The children took part in a special Chinese New Year banquet and were so brave and curious as they tried a range of new and different foods. It was lovely to see everyone talking about flavours, textures and their favourites! After the banquet, the children joined together for a dragon dance parade around the school, proudly carrying the dragon and singing their dragon dance song as they went. Throughout the afternoon, the children also enjoyed a range of Chinese New Year themed arts and crafts activities, exploring colours, patterns and traditional symbols.

Our Year 9 pupils are approaching the end of their third project of the academic year, and what a journey it’s been!
They’ve been developing their independence in the workshop by confidently reading and interpreting working drawings, following detailed instructions, and applying their growing knowledge of workshop practice.
This project has been entirely focused on the make. There has been no design element this time, just pure problem-solving, precision, accuracy, and an opportunity to demonstrate everything they’ve learned in their previous two projects.
It’s certainly not for the faint-hearted. This challenge demands resilience, determination and real grit each week, and our pupils have truly risen to the occasion.
We’ve seen some fantastic outcomes, including creative enhancements where pupils have gone above and beyond, designing components using CAD and 3D printing them to integrate into their final snake product.
Here’s a selection of work from one of our Year 9 groups. This particular group has worked incredibly hard and never given up, with every pupil successfully completing their product!

FLIPPIN’ GOOD FUN!
The whole of ¸£Àû¼§ was out in force this morning to cheer on their respective Houses in the annual Pancake Scramble.
Mrs Bakhtiari did the honours for this eagerly anticipated event, throwing the giant pancake high into the air whilst teams of Year 6 pupils excitedly waited in the four corners, ready to scramble and collect as much pancake as possible when it landed.
Congratulations go to the triumphant winners Levi, Harrison, Amber and Monty from Rodney House, who won £20 for collecting a whopping 1650g of pancake.

There were gasps all around in Year 3 when Grandma blasted through the ceiling after George’s Marvellous Medicine! 🚀 Inspired by the chaos and creativity, the children have written their own fantastic stories — and they’re just as exciting!
