Little Lions and Reception had a super time at the Butterfly Gardens learning all about the life cycle of a butterfly. We were surrounded by around 1,000 butterflies and also managed to see eggs, caterpillars, and chrysalises too! We enjoyed identifying different types and also had fun with a caterpillar craft activity.

Y6 Science in Action! 突
Our budding scientists put their classification skills to the test using some sweet specimens! The challenge? To sort them into groups based on clear characteristics, just like real taxonomists.
With careful observation and scientific reasoning, the children split their sweets into two new groups each timeuntil, alas, some specimens mysteriously became extinct! (We suspect natural causes... or perhaps a few sneaky predators in the classroom!
A fun and hands-on way to explore classificationwho knew science could be so delicious? #SweetScience #Classification #HandsOnLearning #OopsExtinct #KS2 science
