What an absolutely phenomenal day! We landed in Iceland at 11am and were welcomed by some stunning views of the landscape. After exploring the sights in Rejkaviik we had a fun filled laser tag/arcade evening where the competition was high! The pizza dinner went down well after all that exertion. Our patience paid off after waiting for over two hours to see the natural phenomena of the Northern Lights- it was magical!

Year 1 had a fantastic trip to the Steyning Museum to learn all about houses and homes. We found out how houses were made in the olden days and explored how they used to wash their clothes, heat their houses and what they could use when it got dark, as there was no electricity. They all had lots of questions and we were intrigued by the chamber pots that lived under the bed.

Years 10 and 11 arrived at Heathrow safely this morning and are all looking forward to a fun filled few days in Iceland!

A group of Y10 pupils recently took part in a night navigation exercise around Stanmer Park in Brighton. This provided pupils with the opportunity to refine their navigation skills in preparation for the Silver Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.

Earlier in the week, the Year 6's were surprised by a letter from the 'War Office' saying that they were going to be evacuated. Before long they had their name labels on and were escorted to the hall, where staff members from the school came down to choose a couple of evacuees to take back. Of course, this was all staged as part of Year 6's topic on World War II. 福利姬 found themselves in unfamiliar locations, some had to do jobs such as folding and cleaning, while others had to take part in senior lessons. The pupils came back buzzing and have produced some great writing out of their surprise experience.

In DT, Year 10 have kicked off their new user-centred design project by analysing a range of pizza cutters.
What looks like a simple product quickly becomes a deep dive into ergonomics, anthropometrics, usability and sustainable design. From grip comfort and hand size to safety, ease of use and material choices, students are discovering just how many design decisions hide in everyday objects.
A brilliant hands-on way to explore how good design puts the user first. We can鈥檛 wait to see the creative and thoughtful outcomes that come next .
